Following a successful review of their first-half work, all Sinoright's team members gathered for a three-day "Desert & Grassland" adventure in Tongliao, Inner Mongolia, from July 19th to 21st, 2025.

July 19: Journey to the Desert‌

On the evening of the 19th, everyone arrived punctually at the train station with packed bags. After a roll call, we boarded the overnight train to Tongliao. Despite the long journey and occasional bumps, the excitement among colleagues and their families was palpable. Laughter and conversation filled the trip, and we arrived in Tongliao greeted by the sunrise of a new day.

After breakfast and a brief respite, our first stop was the famed Taminchagan Desert – the largest desert in Northeast China. We experienced the thrill of desert activities, riding powerful off-road vehicles over towering, undulating sand dunes. The vehicles took us deep into the desert where we marveled at the unique landscape, including a local landmark resembling the Sphinx, and took group photos. Team spirit soared during an energetic tug-of-war on the sand, followed by exhilarating sandboarding.

Later, we visited a local museum. A lively guide helped us explore the origins of steppe culture and uncover the mysteries of prehistoric life in the region. Following this cultural immersion, we visited Tongliao's "Provence" – a stunning lavender farm. Fields of vibrant lavender were in full bloom, creating a breathtaking sea of purple swaying gently in the breeze – a picture-perfect scene. We lined up proudly, unfurling a banner to shout our rallying cry: ‌"United in heart, Sinorighters conquers desert and grassland; Together we strive, embarking on a journey to a brighter destiny!"‌

We checked into our hotel in the evening, warmly welcomed by a personalized banner. As everyone drifted off to sleep, our first desert day concluded.

July 20: Immersion in the Grassland‌

Overnight rain cleared by morning, washing away the summer heat and leaving a refreshing coolness – a perfect welcome. We journeyed to the Jarud Banner Grassland, one of the world's four pristine grasslands. As we traveled, guided commentary enriched the experience, and the scenery transformed: trees gave way to vast expanses under a brilliant blue sky dotted with clouds, dotted with grazing herds of cattle and sheep.

At the pastoral camp, we received a traditional Mongolian welcome ceremony. Gathering inside a yurt, we savored authentic Mongolian cuisine while learning basic phrases from a local teacher and enjoying the deep, powerful melodies of a Morin khuur (horsehead fiddle) performance. Afterwards, led by our guide, we formed a large circle, hand-in-hand, to learn Bökh (Mongolian wrestling). This sparked the inaugural "Dalian Sinoright Grassland Wrestling Championship!" After spirited competition, Peter from the Business Group emerged as the Men's Champion, while Tina claimed the Women's title. During free time, groups explored: some captured photos of the stunning scenery, others tried their hand at archery or horseback riding, and many dressed in traditional Mongolian attire. We capped the visit with a memorable group photo captured by drone.

En route to Bend Bay (Jiǔ Qū Wān) in the afternoon, we stopped at the famous "Rainbow Road," snapping photos against a backdrop so picturesque it resembled a "computer desktop wallpaper." We also visited the May First Corps Town ("Wuyi Bingtuan Xiaozhen"), feeling the vastness of the steppe while learning about the pioneers' "arduous pioneering and enterprising spirit," commemorated with a group photo under the red flag. At Bend Bay, scenic vehicles took us to a viewpoint. Riding across the vibrant grasslands was invigorating. From the highest vantage point, we gazed upon the meandering river, its curves accentuated by lush green banks teeming with livestock. The scene – clear waters, azure skies, and boundless grassland – embodied the freedom, grace, resilience, and enduring spirit of the grassland.

Our evening destination was the Chiyan Tribe camp. Settled into luxurious grassland yurts, we witnessed the solemn and grand "Unveiling Ceremony" of a Mongolian-style roast whole lamb, presided over by General Manager Du and his wife as the "Prince" and "Princess." As the ceremony concluded, the feast began! We indulged in delicious roast lamb and various delicacies, toasting freely. Each team shouted their inspiring pledges, united in their determination to achieve the annual goals set at the beginning of the year and strive for new heights! As dusk turned to night, we headed to a bonfire party. Under dazzling lights and music, everyone danced around the roaring fire under the starry sky. The celebration peaked with a spectacular fireworks display and a special highlight: witnessing a newlywed couple "tie the knot and pledge their eternal love."

July 21: Farewell to the Grassland‌

Morning sunlight gently warmed the yurts as our Tongliao adventure neared its end. After a traditional Mongolian breakfast, we gathered for our final excursion: Wild Wolf Valley. Here, we observed grassland wolves up close, learning about their habits and cultural significance. We then toured the imposing statues of Mongolian Khans, feeling embraced by the vastness of the Ulagai Grassland – a fitting conclusion to our journey.
